Thermal Electric
Heating Systems
For Precise Impedance Heating of Pipelines
The Thermal Electric system lets you
introduce safe, low voltage alternating current into a piping system. The pipe
itself serves as the heating element to maintain uniform heat throughout the
pipeline. A multi-tap transformer reduces single-phase
electric power to low-voltage power and impresses it on the electrically isolated pipe
wall. Automatic control thermostats balance any heat loss through radiation. The Thermal Electric system is highly
efficient. More than 95% of electrical energy input is directly converted into heat
within the pipe wall. In addition, the system maintains uniform fluid temperatures
under all continuous, intermittent, or seasonal flow requirements.
Advantages:
Simple Installation
The Thermal Electric system can be installed on existing pipelines with
only minor modifications instead of complicated piping, pumps, traps, boilers, and the
like, normally required for steam or fluid-traced systems.
95 % Energy Efficiency
A heating efficiency of 95% plus automatic control of energy input reduces
operating costs. By operating unattended and trouble-free, maintenance costs are
minimal. There is no lost production due to shutdown for
maintenance. Since the pipeline is the heating element, it cannot burn
out. No leaky steam lines. No frozen or cracked steam traps. All Thermal
Electric components are designed to provide long, dependable service. All components
conform to the National Electrical Code.
Uniform Product Temperature
The large surface area of the pipe gives low heat density, eliminating the
danger of overheating sensitive fluids. Maximum operating temperature is limited
only by what the fluid and pipe can withstand. Variety of
Fluids
Thermal Electric has handled the following
industrial fluids and others with outstanding performance-many installations have 30 years
or more of maintenance free operating history in all parts of the U.S. (above ground,
underground, indoors, outdoors).
